The Office of Research and Development serves as the liaison and window of internal and external services at TUT. The goals for the Office involve TUT’s cooperation with the government’s policies in relevant economic development and MOE’s administration, in addition to the integration of TUT’s instructor pool and hardware facilities. The Office is also driven to boost TUT’s exchanges and cooperation with the government, the private sector and other educational institutions in Taiwan and abroad by promoting joint research projects, academic and industrial cooperation, professional services and extension education between TUT’s instructors and government bodies/private corporations. The Office aims to strengthen its internal and external practicum courses while assisting students to secure employment in order to fulfill the philosophies of “equal emphasis on theory and practice” and “technological integration” for vocational education.

Based on the demands for relevant development the Office of Research and Development is further divided into six different sections, namely: International Affairs Section, AICS, Career Development Section, Extension Education Center, Innovation Incubation Center and Alumni Service Center.

In the future, the Office shall adhere to the concept of “cultural creativity” in research and development by constructing a sound platform for academic and industry exchange. This would not only highlight TUT’s features in education but also help relevant industries to boost their competitiveness. With regards to international exchanges, the Office shall strive to promote international academic exchanges through means of exchange instructor/student, combined degree programs and overseas student enrollment in order to create a diverse and international campus. As for practicum and employment services, the Office shall improve the rate of certification qualification for students and enhance its external practicum courses in order to help students boost their employment competence. In light of the trends for lifelong learning and overall improvement of the people’s vocational competence, the Office aims to provide more diverse channels of continued education and learning.
